Update on New MOA
Dear members,
Since my last update on New Year’s Eve, the government and NLMA teams have started work on the specific contract language to capture tentative agreement items that were resolved at the negotiating table.
NLMA staff are also preparing an information package for members. We are tentatively blocking out the week of January 24 to have virtual meetings with members to discuss the proposed agreement prior to a ratification vote. We currently plan to hold four virtual meetings with salaried family physicians, salaried specialists, fee-for-service family physicians and fee-for-service specialists. We will send meeting invitations as well as the information package as we get closer to these dates. While only practicing members can vote on the tentative agreement, the virtual consultations will be open to all members including medical students, residents and retired members.
