Preliminary AGM Agenda (Subject to Change)

Resolutions

Members may submit resolutions by end of day Friday, May 31, for debate during the AGM Business Session. Resolutions will only be accepted in advance of the AGM. Movers and seconders of resolutions must be in attendance.

Notice of By-law Amendment

At this year’s Annual General Meeting, members will have the opportunity to learn more about and vote on a proposed bylaw amendment to reassign the responsibility for setting the annual membership fee from the general membership to the NLMA Board. This revision was identified during the annual review of the association’s by-laws and is being recommended by the Board. The change aligns with the practice of the other Atlantic medical associations.

To transition this responsibility, a motion will be brought to the membership at this year’s Annual General Meeting to set the annual membership fee for the upcoming 2025 membership year.

A motion will also be brought to the membership to revise the bylaws. This motion will specify that the responsibility for setting the annual membership fee after 2024, will be exercised by the Board.

Want to learn more in advance of the meeting?

To assist members, this package includes the current by-law and the text of the proposed amendment, allowing a side-by-side comparison.

If you do not plan to attend the meeting, please complete, date and sign the Proxy Form for voting NLMA members so that you can be represented at the meeting.
