- One (1) Rural Directors At-Large
- One (1) Urban Directors At-Large
President-Elect
The successful candidate will serve a three-year term on the NLMA Board to fulfill the executive positions of President-Elect, President and Past-President. This position is exempt from geographical considerations. Past and current Board members are permitted to submit their names for nomination.
At-Large Directors
As per the NLMA By-laws, term of office for newly elected At-Large Directors is three years. Rather than represent a specific specialty, payment modality or geographic region, At-Large Directors are driven by the interests of the entire NLMA membership. To ensure equal distribution of the six At-Large Directors on the Board, no more than three (3) members from the St. John’s metro region (St. John’s, Mount Pearl, Paradise, CBS and the Northeast Avalon) serve on the Board at any given time. Past Board members are permitted to submit their names for nomination if they have been off the Board for at least one year.
Nomination Process
Please submit your CV and Statement of Interest outlining your decision to join the NLMA Board of Directors by completing the Nomination Form linked below. A description of roles and responsibilities of Board Members is available here.

Election Process
If more than one rural, one urban and one President-elect nomination is received, the NLMA will hold a general election via online secret ballot. If only one rural candidate comes forward in each category, those candidates will be declared elected by acclamation. In the absence of any candidates, vacancies will be filled by recruitment, in keeping with the principle of equity.
