Anatomical Pathologist Opportunity – St. John’s

Full-time positions are available for Anatomic Pathologists at the Laboratory Medicine Program of Eastern Health (EH). Subspecialty expertise or training in either of the following areas is considered a priority: Breast Pathology, Gastrointestinal & Liver Pathology, Gynecological Pathology. Applicants with other subspecialty expertise are welcome to apply.

The successful candidate will join a group of 16 pathologists, hematopathologists, genetics scientists, medical microbiologists and clinical chemists providing hospital laboratory services. Our laboratory currently processes approximately 40,000 surgical pathology specimens per year. On-call coverage and autopsies are shared equitably within the group. The Health Science Centre is a teaching hospital affiliated with the Faculty of Medicine at Memorial University and has an anatomic pathology residency training program.

Through strong formal affiliations with Memorial University, and on the recommendation of the Discipline Chair, the successful candidates will be eligible for a clinical faculty appointment in the Academic Department of Laboratory Medicine and may be expected to participate in collaborative research activities and scholarship (ie: teaching).
