President’s Letter: NLMA reaches tentative agreement with the provincial government
Dear Colleagues:
I am very pleased to inform you that the NLMA has reached a tentative deal with the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador for a new Memorandum of Agreement (MOA).
Both the NLMA and the government have agreed not to share details of the tentative MOA publicly until after members have an opportunity to review and vote on the deal.
Our next steps are to render the tentative deal into contract language, and to prepare an information package for review by our members. We will hold online meetings to discuss the tentative agreement and answer questions prior to an online vote among practicing members. Details of the agreement will not be released to the public until after ratification.
It has been a long road and I am very happy to share this news with you as we get ready to welcome the New Year.
