NLMA asks the public to join in recognizing doctors on National Physician’s Day

For immediate release – May 1, 2020

St. John’s, NL – Today, on National Physician’s Day, we pay tribute to the more than 1,500 doctors and medical residents in our province who are on the front lines of the pandemic to help reduce the spread of COVID-19 and keep us safe.

Doctors are working in assessment centres, hospitals, long-term care, in clinics, and by phone and video to ensure patients get the care they need during this time of crisis.

They have answered the call with courage and commitment, and they will continue to be there for patients when the pandemic is over. From the moment we are born, throughout our lives and in our final hours, doctors are there to put patients first when they need them most.

On National Physician’s Day, the NLMA is asking all Newfoundlanders and Labradorians to help us recognize the dedication of our doctors by sending a thank-you note to a doctor that has made an impact in your life. Please leave a message at https://nlmaforms.formstack.com/forms/thankyou and we will share it with them.
