Government seeking physicians to join MCP Review Panel

The Department of Health and Community Services is seeking candidates for appointment to the Review Panel of the Medical Care and Hospital Insurance Act. The purpose of the Review Panel is to convene when a physician, dentist, or professional medical corporation disagrees with the findings of an audit. The Review Panel shall make a report to the Minister containing its findings and the report shall contain recommendations. At least five of the 15 review panel members must be physicians selected from a list of nominees provided by the NLMA.

Review Panel members are paid according to the Level II rate of Treasury Board Guidelines.
