Facility Workload Disruption Payment Policy for FFS Physicians in NLHS Facilities Related to CorCare Implementation
Following sustained NLMA advocacy on behalf of members, an income replacement program for fee‑for‑service physicians within NLHS affected by CorCare implementation has now been approved.
Effective April 25 to May 18, 2026, the program will provide income support during workflow disruptions using the “Facility Workload Disruption Payment Policy for Fee-For-Service Physicians” (FWDPP) detailed in Schedule B of the 2023-27 MOA. This policy provides financial compensation during unexpected disruptions that significantly impact normal hospital operations.
Eligibility and Compensation:
- Each FFS physician will be compensated for the number of days they are scheduled to work during the effective period.
- Physicians who opt-in to the program must be available to work as required during the period.
- They may be required to perform services outside their normal scope but within their competency.
- Medical Services will need to verify the information provided by each department/division to satisfy the requirements of the DHCS.
Rate
The Daily Salary Rate of Pay (DSRP) is calculated, as per Schedule B of the MOA, by dividing the top salary step of a physician’s relevant scale by 240 days as per the table below:
