Deadline Extended: EOI – Council of the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Newfoundland and Labrador

Under the Medical Act, 2011, the Provincial Government is required to appoint medical practitioners to the Council of the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Newfoundland and Labrador. At this time, a request has been made to the NLMA to put forth names of nominees for this selection process.

The purpose of the Council is to regulate the practice of medicine and the medical profession in the public interest. The Council examines applications for registration and licensure, issues licenses, carries out duties relating to discipline, and performs other tasks in keeping with the purpose of the Act.
