2017 – 2023 MOA Retroactive Payments Timeline

Please note that in follow-up to the NLMA Update on August 26 regarding retroactive payments to FFS physicians in disciplines receiving increases under the MOA, physicians working in Alternate Payment Plans (APPs as set out in Schedule E of the MOA) can also expect to receive their retroactive payment on September 9, 2022. NLMA will inform members if there is any change to this expected date.

In the June MCP Newsletter regarding the MOA rate changes, MCP indicated it would need approximately one month from the payment date of July 29 to calculate retroactive pay. This was necessary to ensure regular payments went through without any issues before retroactive pay was calculated. However, August 29 falls in between two MCP pay periods – August 26 and September 9. Therefore, barring any issues with retroactive calculations, fee-for-service physicians (in disciplines receiving increases under the MOA) can expect to receive their retroactive payments on September 9. The NLMA will inform members if there is any change to this expected date.
