Annual General Meeting

The NLMA Annual General Meeting (AGM) is held each June and provides members with the opportunity to attend sessions on issues that matter to physicians and to bring forward and debate resolutions that help guide the Board of Directors to set policy.

2025 Annual General Meeting


The 2025 Annual General Meeting will be held on Saturday, June 7, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. NT. The AGM is open to all members and is being held virtually to accommodate members located throughout the province. The annual meeting is an opportunity to discuss the business of the NLMA and debate resolutions.

President’s Dinner

Following the virtual Business Session, the NLMA will hold the annual President’s Dinner in-person at The Geo Centre, 175 Signal Hill Road, St. John’s, to install incoming NLMA President Dr. Cynthia Slade. The dinner will also feature presentations of the NLMA and CMA Honorary Life Awards. This year, the NLMA is honouring Dr. John Angel, Dr. Brenda Galway, and Dr. Yogananthan Wijayanayagam. The CMA is honouring Dr. Elias Bartellas. Doors open at 7:00 p.m. with cocktails followed by dinner at 7:30 p.m. 

Registration

Registration for the AGM Business Session closes at 1:00 p.m. NT on Saturday, June 7. To limit emails for those who will not be joining the virtual AGM, only registered delegates will receive relevant notifications and the link to participate.

The deadline to register for the President’s Dinner is 5:00 p.m. NT, Friday, May 30.

Resolutions

Members may submit resolutions by end of day Friday, May 30, for debate during the AGM Business Session. Resolutions will only be accepted in advance of the AGM. Movers and seconders of resolutions must be in attendance.

Section Meetings

Ahead of the AGM, the Family Medicine Section, the Section of FFS Consultants, and the Section of Salaried Physicians will meet via Zoom. Meeting details will be emailed to section members in the coming weeks.
