MAiD Advanced Training Program: Happy Valley-Goose Bay

April 28 | 2018

Medical Assistance in Dying (MAiD) is an option now available in this province as it is in the rest of Canada. Family physicians Dr. Sarah Clancy and Dr. Aaron McKim have partnered with the RHAs and the NLMA to offer an advanced teaching program on medical assistance in dying (MAiD) to support competency for this new service. The core education of the program will be offered in a one-day session of Advanced MAiD training. The session considers the unique challenges of physicians in Newfoundland and Labrador who will be actively involved in the provision of care in MAiD cases from request to completion of the case. Following the training, providers and assessors will have access to a toolbox of resources, as well as a network of support throughout the province.

Sessions begin at 8:30 a.m. and will be held in Grand Falls-Windsor (January 27), St. John's (February 10), Corner Brook (March 10), and Happy Valley-Goose Bay (April 28).
